This young girl in the marketplace at Sapa is carrying her younger sibling on her back. She is a member of the Black H'Mong hill tribe, the poorest ethnic minority group in Vietnam. Like in economically disadvantaged groups all around the world, girls are given much of the burden of caring for their younger brothers and sisters while their parents till the fields.
